ClinicNet HistoryClinicNet was founded in 1998 as a service coalition to support the efforts of independent, privately funded, non-profit clinics as they provide health care to the medically underserved in Colorado. In 1998, Dr. Glenn Cosh, a long-time volunteer physician, convened a meeting of clinics that provide care for low-income and uninsured patients. Initially four independent, private clinics along with four hospital systems and seven healthcare associations and private companies expressed concern that their services were not being identified or recognized as being a vital part of the healthcare safety net for the uninsured in Colorado. Thus, the desire to collaborate, share information and expertise and coordinate the tracking of services provided by this private segment of providers was solidified and ClinicNet was formed. The COPIC Medical Foundation, Rose Community Foundation and Caring for Colorado Foundation have granted monies to support ClinicNet’s operations and data collection projects since its inception. For its entire existence, ClinicNet has functioned as a service coalition led by a volunteer Steering Committee and staffed by a part-time Program Director. Grant funds are administered by the President of Inner City Health (a steering committee member).
